About Kornić

Kornić is located on a small hill in the southern part of the island Krk.
Due to the “Magistrale” road which is located in the close vicinity of Kornić, it is accessible and attractive during all seasons.

Kornić is located approximately 6 km from the town of Krk, 2 km from Punat and 500-800 m from the seaside.

This place is named after the Latin-originating word "Kornić" meaning “raven” (a bird that can still be seen today in this part of the island).

From Kornić you have a beautiful view to: the town Punat, Kosljun with its monastery as well as to the bay of Košljun (Puntarska draga). At the coast there is located the St. Dunat Chapel which was built in the 12th century.

The town Krk nearby offers you several interesting sightseeing possibilities with many cultural monuments such as the cathedral and the Frankopan castle which are the best known town motives. And also the Kamplin square and the Church of St. Krsevan are well known and worth a visit.
Those who are looking for an active holiday can enjoy in diving, cycling, hiking trails, mini golf, table tennis, beach volleyball, basketball, handball, indoor soccer ... in almost every place on the island.
Taste the gastronomic offers of this island and try the traditional dishes – we especially recommend the excellent olive oil from Krk, Krk cheese, quality fish and lamb. Krk has many original taverns and very good restaurants.

Beaches
The apartments are located close to the beach Dunat – which is about 800 meters (3 minutes by car) away. The beach is well maintained and is very convenient for tourists with small children because of the shallow and warm sea. The beach is first-class equipped for an enjoyable day for all types of tourists and visitors. On the beach there are restaurants and beach bars as well as entertainment and recreation facilities.
There is a playground for children with a sandbox, seesaws and carousel, swings ... a diving center, small boat rental, beach volleyball, exchange office, ice cream stands, pool, shower, toilet, 2 slides (one in the children's park, and the other one on the beach which leads directly into the sea).

A Wakeboard center is located 400 meters from the beach (http://wakeboarder.hr/).
On the beach there are parking facilities (at a separate section of the beach) which are currently not charged.

If you prefer swimming, sunbathing and a peaceful vacation without the crowds around you, in only 8 minutes by car you can get to some of the "wild" beaches located in a large pine forest of the Prniba Peninsula. Prniba is a peninsula which is covered with pine trees with unpaved roads where you can go for a walk or ride a bike. The air is clean and healthy!
